The Les Quis Complex

    We were the first to recognize that anglers from the UK wanted to fish for the size of fish rarely available in England, but were put off by the many drawbacks involved in fishing a foreign country. So we've developed the fishery, the fish and the facilities to give you the very best of both worlds. It's French fishing at its best, without the hassle of night fishing bans, acres of mud and the gun toting guard de peche.

  Since we formed the fishery in 1992 we have consistently produced very  large captures of big fish on a weekly basis.

Our long term aim is to manage and develop a fishery that stands the test of time and brings to carp anglers the very finest foreign fishing available.

The Trips

      We will pick you up on a Friday night from a secure car park in Folkestone . Then you're taken to the complex on board a luxury 56 seat, air conditioned coach with TV, video, drinks facilities, a toilet. The coach is driven by two professional, licensed drivers, so there is no danger of driving fatigue. Making the journey as stress free and comfortable as possible.

   On arriving we will unload at the lodge where you will be greeted with a cup of tea. Here you can chat to anglers already at the complex about the fishing and last weeks catches. We then give all new arrivals an hour or so to walk around the complex allowing you to ear mark potential swims. Once everyone returns to the patio the selection of swims/lakes will begin, with No.1 starting working through to the last drawn number.

 The focal point for any trip to Les Quis is the purpose built fishing lodge. Besides a commanding view of the lakes, there is satellite TV with full Sky sports package, barbecue, male and female toilets, a shower/washroom facilities.

The lodge with a fully equipped kitchen and dining facility is centrally sited on the complex and from there we prepare all breakfasts and dinners and have a ready supply of hot and cold drinks to suit all tastes. Believe us, there's no better way of enjoying your food than soaking up the evening sun and watching monster carp roll and jump! Experienced and approachable bailiffs will accompany you on the trip to help and assist with all your needs.

The Complex

The complex consists of 4 lakes with a ground space of over 70 acres with a lodge centrally located.

   The 4 lakes themselves are all well established gravel pits which have been allowed to mature naturally. Most swims are enclosed by lush vegetation and the lakes' margins are lined with mature trees and bushes - perfect for the carp. In fact we've spent endless hours watching carp to over 60lbs browsing at our feet! The lakes are large enough to allow quiet, uninterrupted fishing without being too large to put the fish out of range. Indeed, standard "English" tackle is perfectly adequate for the Les Quis Complex, but be prepared for the fight of a lifetime, the Les Quis residents are renowned for their incredible fighting abilities, so be prepared !!

The lake beds are made up of a mixture of sand, gravel and thin silt. It is a combination that makes the complex incredibly rich in natural food, which alongside the anglers bait maintains and nourishes the high level of stock. It is a balance that promotes phenomenal growth rates whilst ensuring the carp are still competing for their food, or to put it another way - very catchable!

The Fish

    Lets face it, the reason you're contemplating the Les Quis complex is the Carp. They are renowned throughout the world for their quantity, quality and perhaps most importantly their size.

Every year the catch reports even astounded us. Weekly at the Les Quis complex we record stacks of twenties and thirties, forties are common place and fifties are the rule rather than the exception, with the chance of a sixty now from any of the three main lakes. Our stocking and fish distribution policies have ensured that no matter where you fish on the complex you have got fish of a very high calibre in front of you, loads of them in fact!

Alongside our original fish we have periodically introduced stocks of fast growing German carp. These fantastic carp are thriving in their surroundings and have grown to well over sixty pounds. these giants are backed up by tons of "support fish", both native and stocked. That is how we have achieved such a great balance of fish and catch rates on the complex.

The Les Quis complex is also noted for its stock of huge commons. Throughout the season the lakes produce commons of all sizes with fish exceeding 60lbs gracing the bank.
