Bait

We consider bait to be an absolutely critical factor to the angler's overall enjoyment of a trip to Les Quis.

Our aim with Osprey baits is to ensure that the individual's catch rate is maximised for their trip and fish weights continue to rise year on year.

With this in mind we work very closely with our supplier to develop and make available to our clients the best possible products to maximise their catch rate whilst fishing the complex. Our baits are the results of continued development over many years and are totally exclusive to us.

We obviously witness some anglers trying to get an "edge" and this generally means an unusual bait selection, in our experience "Shelf-life" baits perform particularly poorly on our waters, you have been warned !!

Both Osprey bait options detailed below have been specifically developed by us for use at Les Quis aimed at being the most productive bait possible at the complex.

All baits purchased from Les Quis come in a sealed 5KG bag.

All boilies are air dried 18mm.

All baits have been rolled fresh the week before your trip .

The Les Quis recommended quantity for a productive week's fishing is 15kg total for your three rods, if required more is available fresh from the freezer.

In order to ensure enough stock of all bait products are kept on site we do need your initial bait quantity order one month before your departure date.

All stock baits are stored frozen on site and can be taken as required from the bulk freezer individually, ensuring that you are fishing with the freshest possible bait for the duration of your trip.

All individual baits supplied by Les Quis are part of a range that includes dedicated pop ups(14mm), paste and dip/glugs.

 Following development throughout the last two years we about to release our 2009 range.

The bait range for 2009 consists of:

Boilies - £38.50 per 5KG bag

Paste - £3.00 per 200g Tub

14mm Pop-Ups - £5.00 per Tub

Dip/Glug - £5.00 per 200ml Tub

Osprey "Cranberry Syrup" 

A deep red appearance being a fishmeal based recipe combined with an exclusive blend of enhancers and cranberry flavouring.

Osprey "Squid and Liver"  

A traditional mid-brown appearance being a fishmeal and liver based recipe combined with an exclusive blend of enhancers and squid and liver flavouring.

Top Tips: 

·       Keep rigs simple, but effective

·       Minimum 2.5oz weights recommended

·       Barbless hooks are compulsory, size 6’s or 4’s are recommended - Ensure very sharp

  ·       Do not back lead - recommended

·       Baiting little and often rather than big beds of bait

·       Consider 6FT zig rig (Highly successful day or night)

 ·       Fish for one take at a time and bait accordingly

 ·       Be observant whilst fishing and look for signs of feeding/bubbling fish at all times

·       Be prepared to move to another swim as conditions dictate

    ·  You should bring bait mesh and use coated braid to avoid poisson chat related problems with presentation.

In extreme cases without mesh your hook bait can be whittled away within one hour.

Paste around a meshed boilie will eliminate the hook snagging the mesh during casting.
