Bait

In General:

We consider bait to be be a critical factor to the angler's overall enjoyment of a trip to Les Quis, and with this in mind we work very closely with Poacher Baits to develop and make available to our clients the best possible products to maximise their catch rate whilst fishing the complex. Obviously, the selling of bait is not the major part of our business, but does constitute a very important factor not primarily from a business point of view, but much more importantly for the benefit of the angler's catch rate and the fish - both in the short and long term. We certainly don't profess and don't intend to be portrayed as bait experts with regard to technical elements, but we do base all we may say on the subject to be factual relating to our own honest personal experience and results over many years.

Both Osprey bait options detailed below have been specifically developed by us for use at Les Quis aimed at being the most productive bait possible at the complex.

All baits purchased from Les Quis come in a sealed 5KG bag.

All boilies are rolled to 20mm before air drying.

All baits have been rolled fresh the week before your trip and air dried before being delivered to the coach.

The Les Quis recommended quantity for a productive week's fishing is 15kg total for three rods, if required more is available fresh from the freezer.

In order to ensure enough stock of all bait products are kept on site we do need your initial bait quantity order one month before your departure date.

All stock baits are stored frozen on site and can be taken as required from the bulk freezer individually.

Ensuring that you are fishing with the freshest possible bait for the duration of your trip.

All individual baits supplied by Les Quis are part of a range that includes dedicated pop ups(18mm), paste and dips.

Osprey "Summer Surprise" 

A golden yellow appearance being a high white fishmeal content recipe including protein and eggshell combined with an exclusive blend of enhancers and plum flavouring.

Osprey "Euroblend"  

A medium brown appearance being a high fishmeal content recipe including protein and eggshell combined with an exclusive blend of enhancers and blackcurrant/apple flavouring.

The complete bait range is kept fresh frozen on site and readily available at the complex.

Top Tips: 

·       Keep rigs simple (Mono hooklink or coated braid)

·       Minimum 3oz weights recommended

·       Barbless hook size 6’s or 4’s-ensure very sharp

·       Do not back lead - recommended

·       Bait: 15KG recommended for the week

·       Baiting little and often rather than big beds of bait

·       Mesh hookbaits (Paste around boilie, stops hooks snagging on mesh)

·       Consider 6FT zig rig (Highly successful day or night)

·       Fish for one take at a time and bait accordingly

·       Be observant whilst fishing and look for signs of feeding/bubbling fish at all times

·       Be prepared to move to another swim as conditions dictate
